Lyra Kolesar is a multimedia visual artist specializing in fine art and editorial photography. She has practices in both traditional art and contemporary design and is currently studying at Ringling College of Art and Design, majoring in Visual Studies with a minor in Photography and Imaging. Her work examines modern femininity, beauty, and sexuality through the lens of the female gaze.
Blending conceptual storytelling with distinct visual language, Lyra constructs narratives that challenge cultural assumptions and reframe the ways women are viewed and portrayed within fine art. By interrogating social norms surrounding the female body, her work invites viewers to confront a central question: in art, what is the difference between nudity and nakedness?
Recently, her project Drop Dead Gorgeous (2025) was featured at the Crossley Gallery in Sarasota, FL for Backstage, an exhibition centering hidden identities and unspoken cultural phenomena.
